Worst Blog Ever!

This is my blog where I review DVDs, movies, and new episodes of TV shows I watch, and sometimes I comment on news stories that I find interesting. But a lot of the time I just post random things.

RIP to the Victims of Hurricane Katrina

The mayor of New Orleans has said that it is possible that thousands of people have died in New Orleans alone, and over a hundred have been confirmed dead in Mississippi. This is very terrible and sad news. May all of the people who have been killed because of Hurricane Katrina rest in peace. Sadly, many more people will most likely die within the next days, weeks, and months.

Back to the "Learnatorium"

Tommorow I go back to the education facility (AKA a "school"). Three months of Spaghetti-O's and day-time TV has ended (past post reference). ... And that's all I've got to say.

Review of the Futurama Monster Robot Maniac Fun Collection DVD

Earlier today I bought the Futurama Monster Robot Maniac Fun Collection DVD, which was released on Tuesday (August 23rd).

My letter-grade review for every episode on the disc:
Hell is Other Robots - A
Anthology of Interest I - A+
Roswell That Ends Well - A+
The Sting - A+

Each episode has an intro, all of them are hilarious. The disc also has its own introduction, which is great. The DVD also has the animatic for Hell is Other Robots, the animatic has one of the best commentaries ever. The menus on the DVD are excellent. There is one easter egg: Go left from the intro for Anthology of Interest I and press enter after Al Gore's head appears. The DVD also has the greatest cover art ever! I give this DVD an A+.

There are quite a few more deleted scenes on this set than there were on the season 5 one, the deleted scenes are very good. The commentaries are great, as they always are. The "Springfield's Most Wanted" featuture is a lot better than I expected it would be. I'm disappointed that there are less animation showcases on this set than there were on seasons three and five. The other special features on the DVD are also good. The Homer's head packaging is quite a bit worse than I expected it to be. I ordered the alternate packaging (from SimpsonsBox.com). Season 6 is my second favorite season of The Simpsons. I give this DVD set an A+.

I will post a picture of the alternate packaging whenever a picture of it is released.

Some of the Best Simpsons Quotes

I thought I would lay off posting about Family Guy, so I will now be posting about my favorite show, The Simpsons, more.

Here's some of my favorite quotes. I will post more another time.

Homer: Uh, Milhouse saw the elephant twice and rode it once, right?
Luann Van Houten: Yes, but we paid you $4.
Homer: Well, that was under our old price structure. Under our new price structure, your bill comes to a total of $700. Now, you've already paid me $4, so that's just $696 more that you owe me.
Kirk Van Houten: Get off our property.
- From "Bart Gets an Elephant"

Homer (after eating a waffle that was stuck to the ceiling, who he believed was God): Mmm... sacrilicous.
- From "Homer Loves Flanders"

Marge: Did you just call everyone a chicken?
Homer: No. I swear on this bible.
Marge: That's not a bible, it's a book of carpet samples.
Homer: Ooh... fuzzy.
- From "Treehouse of Horror III"

Otto: Your dad's right, I am a bum.
Bart: He didn't call you a bum, he called you a sponge.
Otto: A SPONGE!?
- From "The Otto Show"

Lisa: If we don't get to the convention soon, all the good comics willbe gone!
Bart: Ah, what do you care about good comics? All you every buy is Casper the Wimpy Ghost.
Lisa: I think it's sad that you equate friendliness with wimpiness, and I hope it'll keep you from ever achieving true popularity.
Bart: Well, you know what I think? I think Casper is the ghost of Richie Rich. (shows comics of Casper and Richie Rich)
Lisa: Hey, they do look alike!
Bart: Wonder how Richie died.
Lisa: Perhaps he realized how hollow the pursuit of money really is andtook his own life.

Marge: Kids, could you lighten up a little?
-
From "Three Men and a Comic Book"

... Stay tuned for more.

TVShowsonDVD.com and Simpsons Collector Sector have more pictures of the inside of the DVD set.

There is a flyer in the set that has a number to call to order an alternate box for the set, that number is 1-800 223-2369. When you call the number Homer will tell you to go to SimpsonsBox.com. I was wrong earlier, you DO need to send either the proof of purchase, your reciept, or the 1-800 # flyer, you also need to send $2.95 for shipping and handling ($3.95 if you live in Canada)v. Just go to that site, it will explain everything. I was expecting there to be a picture of the alternate box on that site, but there isn't one.

The flyer:

Cover Art for The Simpsons Seasons 6 - 10 DVDs

Surprisingly, they have released cover art for seasons 7 - 10 already. Season 6 will be released on August 16, season 7 is expected to be out around Christmas-time, seasons 8 (possibly season 9 too) next year, and season 10 in 2007 (or maybe 2008).

Homer, Marge, and Bart look great, but Maggie and Lisa don't look too good. But they will most likely be fixed before thier release.
